Francis Stewart, M.A., R. Psych. holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Regina (1987), and is licensed by the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists. Prior to entering full-time private practice in 1996, Francis had been employed as the Director of Psychology for the Moose Jaw Mental Health Region. He has a comprehensive background in conducting forensic assessments and providing testimony in many provincial and higher-order Courts, both in Saskatchewan and in other Provinces in Canada. Francis has been an invited speaker at numerous private and government agencies, and has been a sessional instructor in the Psychology Department at the University of Regina since 1996.
Francis holds full memberships in the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), Saskatchewan College of Psychologists (SCP), Psychological Association of Saskatchewan (PAS), the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS), The American College of Forensic Psychology, and is listed in the Canadian Registry of Professional Psychotherapists.
Francis served on the Executive Council of PAS from 1991 to 1997, served as President of that organization in 1995-96, and was appointed to the Transitional Council of SCP from 1997 to 2003. Since that time, he has served as Chair and as a member of various SCP committees. In 2002, Francis was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership in the Psychological Association of Saskatchewan in appreciation for the work he did in helping to advance the professional practice of psychology in Saskatchewan. In 2005, Francis was awarded a Centennial Leadership Award from the Government of Saskatchewan for his dedication, leadership and achievements in the practice of psychology.
